Call of Duty: Black Ops III

In the latest installment on Call of Duty, we go back to the Black Ops timeline for a futuristic setting. Unlike the last installment of Call of Duty, there aren't any Exo Suits (Something that's good and bad.) It seems to build on the Black Ops II campaign with newer gadgets such as robotic limbs that turn into machine guns and can hack computers, and four-legged tank walkers. The trailer showed Exo suit-like movements such as increased jump and speed. Also new weapons such as  a rolling ball with razors that can chop up enemies (Treyarch took a page from Half Life 2 and the Rollermine) Combat droids, and robotic insect drones that explode and can kill people. The game also hinted at the other Black Ops in its tease by playing audio clips from the games and then hinted at the infamous "Black Ops Zombies" at the end of the trailer. While some players are cocerned with the weapons being too over-powered or the newer gadgets taking away from the authentic Call of Duty experience. As of right now, this looks like it's going to be a great game for all CoD players.

Garry's Mod

Rating: 10/10

Many people don't know of this game, but they really should. Garry's Mod is a full-on sandbox game where you can literally do whatever you want. Running on the Source Engine, the same engine that powers Half-Life 2 and Counter Strike, it allows you to do pretty much anything you can think of. You can enjoy over thousands of addons such as maps, weapons, NPC's, and playermodels on Singleplayer, or you can host your friends in a private server. You can also play with your friends on Multiplayer, with a huge amount of game modes such as Prop Hunt, where you can either hide as a normal prop placed on the map, or hunt down all the props as the hunters. You can play Deathrun, where you have to make it through nearly-impossible obstacle courses in order to win. You can also play TTT where you play as a terrorist trying to hunt down the traitors in your group. There are many other gamemodes like Murder, or Jailbreak that are very popular. While all this is great, there are a few downsides. For example, many addons require the support of other Valve games such as Counter Strike or Portal for textures and models. But you can download these legally and for free on various websites. While I have done a good job explaining GMod to you, you can never really understand it until you are actually playing it, which is why it only costs $10. So go, stop reading this, download Steam and buy it, right now.

Star Wars: Battlefront

The game many have waited ten years to come out, the EA and DICE reboot of Star Wars: Battlefront. The original Battlefront was released in 2004 and the sequel in 2005, but no Battlefront 3 was ever released (Aside from two PSP and Nintendo DS Battlefronts that were not ever made to be BF3) After the second trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens was released, EA released the trailer for BF3, showing new weaponry and equipment such as portable shield generators and Y-Wing Airstrikes. EA announced that the game will be released with 12 multiplayer maps and new game modes such as Walker Assault. Unlike it's predecessor, BF3 won't include a Single-player campaign, but will have missions for people to play offline. It will also not include space maps but will probably have maps with ground and air battles, according to the trailer. It will be released sometime around the release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, which will release on Christmas 2015. Pre-orders will include Battle of Jakku, which is based on The Force Awakens, and the premium edition will give you exclusive guns and equipment such as Han Solo's blaster pistol or Boba Fett's rifle. Also unlike it's predecessor, it will not include predefined classes with their own weaponry but have more customization options and loadouts (This was what was done in the two Battlefronts released on PSP and DS.) Overall, many Star Wars fans are excited to see what EA and DICE will do with Battlefront, especially after their success with Battlefield: Hardline.

The Master Chief Collection

Back in the fall, 343 Industries released the Master Chief Collection on Xbox One with all four Halo games including the remastered Halo 2 Campaign and over 100 multiplayer maps from all the games including DLC and PC-only maps. The game also included access to the Halo 5: Guardians beta and access to the series, Halo: Nightfall that tells the events leading up to Halo 5. They have also remastered six multiplayer maps from Halo 2 and added new Forge maps running on the redone Halo 2 game engine similar to what will be in Halo 5. The game boasts 60FPS on all maps and new features in Forge such as EMP's, working doors, switches, and many other new additions. While all this sounds good, there are still many problems with the game. There are numerous matchmaking bugs that they are still patching, one Youtuber posted a sped-up video of waiting to play on multiplayer for over 4 hours. There are also many bugs within Custom Games and Forge that make it extremely hard to play Halo with your friends. While 343 has been able to patch many of the bugs, there are still a lot in the game and will take more time to patch all of them.
